Just a man and his dog Walking down the road; The dog looked energetic The man--ike he carried a load.
The dog was straining at his lead The man looked deep in thought, The dog kept up a trotting pace Keeping the lead pulled taut.
The dog was beautiful, a Husky I believe The man was simply a man, A beautiful pair as they walked down the road At a pace that was like they ran.
The dog was alert, and pranced along Beside his tired master, He kept looking up at the man As if looking for some laughter.
Finally they stopped and the man reached down Releasing the dog from his lead, The dog shot off and ran circles on The path around the man's feet.
He jumped and barked, and teased the man Till his master broke into laughter, He began to throw a stick for fetching The dog always running after.
They raced across an open field Two friends out having fun; As they topped the hill, it was quite a sight The two sillouettes in the late evening sun.
The man suddenly looked ten years younger And the dog, like a young pup It was a touching moment As they shared a drink from a brook.
Just a man and his dog Walking around the bend, Ah, but it was more than man and dog-- It was two best friends.
