Well, today was Monday. And it has been a VERY Monday Monday! I had to go have some tests done last week, and wound up having 3 doctors appointments. So I worked through some lunches, and past quitting time a couple of nights to make upp for the time I had to be gone.
First, let me tell you that my JOB is to be the service advisor for a car dealership. In that role, I schedule service appointments, and take care of service customers, making sure they have a good service experience. And I am pretty darn good at it.
Now, let me tell you what all I DO at work....in addition to my 'job', I have thus far been volunteered to answer the phones, do the courthouse running, make the deposits, clean the service building, take out the trash back in the service building, work part time in parts, and, now, just recently, I have been called upon to do part of the job of the title clerk, and file everything that she has decided that she does not want to file.
Now, I really like this person, but she keeps things in piles. Occasionally, she cleans it up, and then I have about two hours worth of filing to do. I know that I probably have more down time than anyone else in the dealership, but, I am getting a little tired of doing the work of four people and getting paid as one.
I really DO enjoy my job, for the most part. But, I just get tired of being taken advantage of. And it seems like that is happening more and more. Lately,I have been asked to do errands during my lunch hour. In fact, I was asked to do that today, and I actually said "no."
Guess I am just griping because it is Monday, and I needed to let off some steam. I know we all need to do that once in a while. So, thanks for listening, and making me feel better by getting it off my chest. I promise to write something lighthearted for the next blog. Until then...
